Healthy Families Program Manager

We are seeking a full-time Program Manager to lead our passionate, energetic and amazing Healthy Families team.


The Healthy Families Program Manager oversees the daily operations of the program. Below lists some of the responsibilities and duties for this position, but is not limited to them:


  • Provide direct supervision to program staff and supervisors

  • Oversee proper client to staff ratio

  • Ensure that services provided comply with contract requirements

  • Maintain, update, and follow the policies and procedures manual for the Porter County Healthy Families Program

  • Meet all requirements to maintain accreditation for Healthy Families

  • Maintain program in accordance with the Healthy Families America model

  • Gather and report statistical data as requested by CEO, grant, and donors

  • Grant writing, contract negotiating, and re-accreditation preparation

  • Attend program-related trainings, program and community meetings and activities

  • Work as a team with the advisory board

  • Oversee fiscal budget and monitor expenditures

  • Review and submit monthly billing

  • Act as a liaison and collaborate with other agencies

  • Be involved with fundraising

  • Interview, hire, evaluate, and maintain program staff

  • Meet with Director of Operations for bi-weekly supervision

  • Attend monthly management meetings


Experience & Skills:


  • Administrative/supervisory experience in human service or related field

  • Experience in providing support to staff in stressful situations

  • Strong leadership, interpersonal, and motivation skills

  • Must be confident and possess the ability to make decisions

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of budgets

  • Required experience in working with young children and families for 3 years, preferably Healthy Families program experience

  • Required program management experience for 2 years

  • Required relevant experience for 4 years



  • Master’s degree in public health or human services administration or fields related to working with children and families

  • Bachelor degree in these fields with a minimum of 3 years related experience
