Families With Young Kids Find Incentive
To Learn Positive Parenting Skills
Learn then Earn….in the process, the entire family benefits from Tot Shop Program.
Established in 2003, The Tot Shop encourages responsible parenting by providing supplies for pregnant women and for families with infants and young children up to age 5. Over 400 people used The Tot Shop last year.
Families earn coupons by completing certain activities – prenatal exams, well-baby check ups, health screenings, parenting classes, and immunizations.
Then they redeem the coupons at The Tot Shop for items such as cribs, mattresses, potty chairs, baby clothes, diapers, strollers, high chairs and toys.
Over the past few years many community members have helped the program by providing clothing, toys and supplies for the families who earn coupons and exchange them at The Tot Shop. Because of health and sanitary concerns, we accept new items only.
Who Distributes Coupons?
Here are some of the participating agencies that distribute coupons:
Prenatal Care & Well Baby Care
Associated Pediatricians
HealthLinc Clinics
Northshore Community Health Clinic
and various physicians in the area
Health Departments in Porter, Jasper, LaPorte, Starke, Pulaski, Benton, and Newton Counties
Parenting & Educational Classes
Northwest Indiana First Steps
Women, Infants and Children Programs (WIC) in Porter, Jasper, LaPorte, Starke, Pulaski, Benton, and Newton Counties
Healthy Families Programs in Jasper, Newton, Porter, Pulaski, and Starke Counties
Tot Shop is a Safe Sleep Provider
