
Strengthening Families
Winter/Spring 2020 Registration is Open
Session begins January 9, 2020
This program is offered at no charge, and includes a full hot dinner that begins each weekly session. The whole family is included, and we provide a hot meal for the whole family and child care for those under 12 years of age.
Each weekly session is scheduled on Thursday evenings from 5:30 to 8 pm. It is a 14-week program.
Families are eligible for the program if there are teens in the family between the ages of 12-17 and there is a desire to improve relationships while preventing behavioral problems.
Strengthening Families is an established parenting and family enrichment program that has been offered by FYSB 22 times with positive results. It is conducted in accordance to an accredited, national model utilizing an evidence-based program.

How will this program help a family?
Enrollment in the 14-week program enables the family to develop successful communication skills that can prevent behavior problems and promote healthy daily living. We address family strengths, developing positive rewards, behavior problems, substance abuse concerns, communication skills, and peer pressure issues. We work with each family member to change behavior and work toward the successful growth and development of the family.
How many people are included in each session?
We typically work with 7 to 10 families in this program, and each family member attends to address issues and develop communication skills. Space is limited so sign up early
